500All 32 plates in this department are made from sugarcane bagasse. We press the leftover fibre from sugar production into a rigid shape, and it dries to something that looks like heavy paper but holds up like molded pulp. Every one of these lines is compostable. They are also BPI certified where we state it, PFAS-free, and safe for the freezer.
The sizes run from 6 inches up to 12.5 inches across. The smaller ones work for appetizers, dessert, or a side dish that does not need much room. A 9 or 10 inch plate is what most people mean when they say dinner plate. It fits a full meal without crowding the food to the edge. If you are serving something with sauce or a loose salad, look at the deep dish option. The raised rim keeps the runoff on the plate instead of on the table. For buffet service or shared platters, the oval shape gives you more length for sliced meats or arranged spreads.
Pack size is the other decision. We sell these in counts from 50 up to 1,000 pieces per carton. A box of 50 or 125 covers a backyard party or a weekend gathering. A case of 500 or 1,000 makes sense if you operate a food truck, run a weekly event, or simply do not want to reorder every month. The price per plate drops as the count goes up, so the large packs cost you less each time you set the table.
These plates are not right for every job. Bagasse absorbs moisture over time, so they will soften if they sit under a wet burger for an hour or more. They hold heat well enough for warm food, but we only mark a few lines as microwave safe. Check the product details before you put one in. And if you need a plate you can wash and use again tomorrow, this department is not the answer. We make those elsewhere, in materials that can take a scrub and a rinse.
Pick the diameter that fits your menu, then choose the pack count that matches how often you serve it. That is all there is to it.
