500All twelve items in this department are made from sugarcane bagasse. That means they will break down in a commercial compost facility, and you can put them in the freezer if you need to hold food for a while. What it also means is that these bowls and trays absorb moisture over time, so they are not a good choice if you plan to fill them with soup or sauce and let them sit out for hours at a buffet line. For that kind of long hold time, you want one of our PET containers from another department.
We make two shapes here. The round bowls hold 12 ounces of soup, chili, or anything else that needs depth. They work well for takeout orders and for portioning out meal prep on a Sunday afternoon. If you run a kitchen that goes through them by the sleeve, we pack those in counts of one thousand. For a household or a smaller operation, the 125-pack keeps your storage space manageable.
The trays are flat with three compartments. We sell these in a ten-inch size in both natural brown and white. Use them when you need to keep food separated on the plate: a main item and two sides, or an entrée with a starch and vegetables. The compartments have raised walls, so sauce from one section will not run into another as long as the tray stays reasonably level. These do not have much of a rim to grip, so they feel less secure in the hand than our deeper bowls do. Think of them as a sturdy plate alternative rather than something you would hand to someone walking around a crowded room.
Pick your pack count by how fast you actually use them. Bagasse is dense, so a case of one thousand takes up real shelf room. It makes sense when you are restocking every week or two. If you order less often, the 125-count boxes stack cleanly and leave you space for other supplies.
